Zoom unveiled a full AI-powered office suite and announced that AI avatars — digital stand-ins that can attend meetings on your behalf — will ship this month. The company also introduced real-time deepfake detection for meetings.

Why it matters

If your organization uses Zoom, two things need attention: (1) meeting avatars will require new acceptable-use policies — can a bot attend on your behalf? (2) deepfake detection is a security feature worth enabling immediately. Zoom is repositioning from video conferencing to an AI-first collaboration platform.
